SetTrove is fiercely committed to editorial independence. We are not owned by, affiliated with, or financially backed by the LEGO Group or any other building block manufacturer. Our opinions are entirely our own, and no brand or PR agency has final approval over our reviews, news coverage, or features before they are published.

Review Methodology

When evaluating a building set, our editorial team takes a comprehensive approach. We assess sets based on several core criteria:

• Build Quality & Experience: Is the build process engaging, repetitive, or overly fragile? We evaluate the techniques used and the clarity of instructions.
• Design & Aesthetics: How does the final model look on display? We look at accuracy (for licensed sets), color blocking, and overall presence.
• Value for Money: We look beyond mere price-per-piece metrics, considering volume, exclusive elements, prints versus stickers, and the overall satisfaction relative to the cost.
• Minifigures/Characters: For sets that include figures, we assess their detailing, exclusivity, and relevance to the source material.
